My burden for the homeless started in 1995, but this type of street ministry didn't begin until 1996. The first word I received from the Lord about the one year assignment was received on a street corner--

While standing on the corner for one hour; the Lord said-  One Hour- -One day-- one year".

      The year in the streets was from (Christmas day 1997 to Christmas day 1998). My camp and area of ministry was approximately 5-15 miles from home. I didn't return home for the entire year.   My calling was to walk in street peoples shoes and minister as the Lord led me.

     One of the early words from the Lord in the streets was:  If anyone ask you what you are doing--tell them you are a minister.  Just saying the words was difficult; and that morning the man running the mail box asked me what I was doing? and I told him---"I'm  a minister". And I said it with a straight face. That was difficult without laughing. You would have to be there.

     The Lord also directed me to pray for business/buildings and anoint them. There must have been hundreds. Churches, schools, liquor stores/bars, hotels, police stations, pornography places and restaurants to name a few. I would anoint them and then kneel down and pray over the place.

     Any reference to 24 hour trips is the dozen trips that I stayed out overnight in the streets and didn't return for 24 hours-or close to that.  There should have been 12--about one for every month. One was spent at a brothers house and we attended a Vineyard spiritual warfare conference that week-end. I spent a lot of time in the streets; and started to slow down the last 4 months when the concrete started taking a toll on my body. I walked hundreds of miles on concrete.

     I'm retired from the military and have a pension to live on. I'm single and have never been married. I was in college and majoring in Administration of Justice, and quit school and my Security Officer job to fulfill this calling into street ministry. Been a believer since September 1990, and live at Ray Aguilera's house, and have known Ray since 1991 where we met in Christian singles ministry.      I've lived at Ray's since December 1994 when I retired from the Navy.  Note: Ray has never told me-- or pressured me to go into the streets.   He didn't know about the one year assignment until the month before I left.   The Lord sent me into the streets -not Ray Aguilera.  Ray's only role was to keep the e-mail list informed, bring my mail on occasion, prayer cover and hold my brief case that contained personal documents for my family; in the event of my death.

     The Christian leadership would not approve my calling, but attempted to stop me from going into street ministry. I was working with a Christian ministry  as an administrator, and was offered a position working for the president of this international ministry. I prayed about it and the Lord said "NO"!  My Christian boss would not release me into street ministry. I left without his approval. I went into the streets without the traditional covering, and  put away my suit and tie, and put on homeless clothes.  The Lord gave me a word about this and said:  "You choose--that's the wide road--now let me show you the narrow way".   (Man's way vs the Lord's way).

Note:  I had a burden to turn off my computer stereo music and turn on the Christian radio station that reads the bible. I just added Mathew 14.  The station read Matthew 13 and on, for 30 minutes including Matthew 14. Matthew 13 is about Jesus talking to his disciples about parables and why He uses parables. This is the second time this happened while working on this web site.

     Many of the links in this page are connected to Ray's prophecy site. As in past street assignments, this one year is meshed with the prophecies received by Aguilera. The Lord uses the prophecies to speak to me and give guidance- as with the bible. I also receive words from the Lord. I read the entire bible while in the streets.

     I attended the Bay Area Rescue Mission. Note: Photo of Mission- while in the streets. This was-- and still is my church. I was ministered too, and heard the word preached by ministers that visit or serve in the mission. My role in the mission was to be a street person, and to blend in.
