Chicago Church
While living and serving at the Rescue Mission; the Lord led me to a Vineyard church. I came from a Vineyard in St. Louis, and was hoping to get involved in one in Chicago. I found the church on line before I left St. Louis; and started going in July 08. I was involved in the set-up ministry, prayer intercessors, men's group, community connection/outreach and the Pastor's house group. The church encouraged and ministered to me while serving at the Rescue Mission. I needed a place to get away from the Mission; and fellowship with believers that were strong in the Lord. Ilona; an itinerant Pastor, left Germany for a year, and came to Chicago. She was also called to the homeless; and we were on similar missions, and were only a couple of months apart. She was a tremendous blessing, and I served with her on the prayer team, and the outreach.
The worship was excellent in this church; and I was ministered by the Presence of the Lord every Sunday. The Holy Spirit moved in this church; and I was restored and renewed; so I could endure another difficult week at the Rescue Mission. I developed a friendship with the Pastor, and enjoyed his house group. He asked me to teach on a couple of occasions; and that stretched me in my walk. I connected with the leaders; and that was God orchestrated. That church helped me get through my year in Chicago; and the Lord answered my prayer; when I asked Jesus to lead me to a church.
