Rick and Linda
"street christians"

I met Rick and Linda in August of 99. They are homeless and in El Sobrante area. Rick and Linda are believers and have a difficult walk and face daily hardships. The street people around them-their group are heavy drinkers and drug addicts. They don't drink or do drugs. I believe the Lord brought us together, and this is typical of what happened in the one year in the streets.
The Lord put on my heart that he would send me to believers in the streets, and it is so refreshing to have a conversation with believers without the "My Church" stuff and the "christianeze" spoken in the christian/church circles. I can't help but think-- this must have been like the early church. These believers in the streets are real, and trying to survive from day to day, and walking a very simple/humble walk with the Lord.

Note:  Rick told me about a very realistic dream he had about an earthquake just 3-4 days before the quake hit Taiwan in Sep 20th/99.   A portion from Aguilera's book.
#64 Prophecy 26 May 92:   Their Prayers rattle My Ears 24 hours a day.  And I am tired of watching the Leaders of My Church totally ignore My Sheep; The ones who have no one; The lonely; The broken hearted; The hungry; The sick.  The ones that are in the street with no where to turn; The ones that I talk to, and no one listens to.  My Eyes are with Tears for I will bring to a close what I started in the beginning.

Rick and Linda are helping me to prepare spiritually/mentally/emotionally for returning to the streets.  Rick and i fixed up their little camp. Some ideas were put in my head one night about their camp; and i bought the supplies at the hardware store and me and Rick got to work. They have a box to sleep in at night, and we put a door on it so their camp could be locked. We also made it stronger and insulated the inside.  Linda is sick and needs to be warm at night. Only a couple of days later, some kids vandalized their little house and was going to set it on fire, when Gypsy caught them and ran em off.

Rick and Linda were told to leave this area/camp a week after we fixed it up or face jail. This is typical of a day in the streets, and I'm starting to believe that the Lord closes doors for believers like Rick and Linda to keep them in the streets to be a light, and a witness for Jesus to others. The typical "church street ministry" tends to give street people tracts and then rush home to the game on sunday.  The leaders are pressuring them to get results/how many prayed the sinners prayer? When someone does give them a tract; these street christians accept it, and read the tract believing the Lord sent someone to put it in their hands. The response isn't the typical: "Oh i'm saved, i don't need that tract, and I go to such and such spirit filled church" What church do yooou go toooo?

I believe the Lord wants believers to do more than just throw tracts at people living in the streets. I believe the Lord wants us to get involved and love them in Jesus name.  My action/love speaks louder than words. What did Jesus do?
