SUFFERING

Psa 66:10  For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver.
Psa 66:11  You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs.
(ISAIAH 53)
Mat 16:21  From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
John 16:33  "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Acts 14:22  strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said.
Rom 8:36  As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
2 Tim 3:12  In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
2 Tim 3:13  while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
1 Pet 4:12  Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
1 Pet 4:13  But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
1 Pet 4:14  If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
1 Pet 4:15  If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
1 Pet 4:16  However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
John 15:18  "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
John 15:19  If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
John 15:20  Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
John 15:21  They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me.
Acts 5:41  The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.
1 Th 1:6  You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
James 1:2  Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
James 1:3  because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
2 Cor 4:8  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
2 Cor 4:9  persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Cor 4:10  We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
2 Cor 4:11  For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.
Rev 2:10  Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.
1 Pet 4:1  Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.
1 Pet 4:2  As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
Heb 12:11  No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Mark 13:9  "You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them.
2 Th 1:5  All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
1 Pet 5:10  And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
